Pancakes, designer clothes and some Christmas spirit

A few days ago we took a quick mini break and went to Gothenburg for some Christmas shopping. Our train arrived at the Central station before any shops were open so we decided to start our visit with some brunch at Egg & Milk, a decision we didn’t regret. Their American pancakes with Maple syrup were absolutely to die for! A brunch at Egg & Milk goes for just under 80 SKR but includes an optional egg dish (pancakes!), a toasted bagel, yogurt, fruit and some coffee or tea.
On our way to Egg & Milk we past by H&M in Nordstan and were confound by an enormous queue. We got a bit puzzled but I quickly realized that H&M were going to released their new designer collection, by Rei Kawakubo and her Comme des Garçons, that day. (Later in the afternoon, when there were no queue left, I actually sneaked in and bought a very nice Comme des Garçons shirt
). It was in general really cozy to stroll around Nordstan since they already have a lot of their Christmas decorations up, it was like getting a taste of Christmas even though it wasn’t December yet.
Another great place for shopping in Gothenburg turned out to be Kungsgatan, a pretty long street with a variety of different types of stores. Mr M’s favorite turned out to be the Ben Sherman store at Kungsgatan 65. I think we had to visit that one at least five times during our visit.
As I mentioned earlier, we had reservations at the First Hotel G. I had never been there before but I liked it a lot and actually can’t complain about anything. It was clean, modern, with nice service and a good breakfast buffet. I can highly recommend it, and we will absolutely stay there again whenever we take a trip to Gothenburg.

I’m just so disappointed, I have just seen the Max Payne movie and it sucked, big time!
Here we have a really good game with nice potentials and lots of possible cool effects. So what do John Moore and his guys do? They uses bits and pieces of great movies (such as for example Constantine, and The Punisher) and force them together in a clumsy and brutal way, totally ignoring the things that make Max Payne - the game what it is. I really had expected a good movie from this concept, and especially since they also had got great actors on board. But not even Mark Walbergs acting and Amaury Nolasco cool ways could save this Titanic. I give Max Payne - the movie two very weak and grumpy Muppets. Finnally I just wanna say: Shame on you John Moore!!!

I have no alarm clock, mostly because I think they are pretty boring and somewhat ugly. The Escape Button Alarm Clock, conceived by the Argentinian designer Santiago Cantera, is however a dream come true! It’s wonderfully geeky but unfortunately still just a concept at the moment. Let’s hope this genius alarm clock will be realized soon

The countdown has begun. Today I bought the first xmas gift… and the last of the wrapping material. I usually have a theme for the xmas wrappings, so that every gift looks exactly the same. I like putting a little extra effort in the presentation of gifts. This year however, as “the old married couple” we are, Mr M and I have together decided on this years theme
more about that later…
Today I have also designed and assembled a new Christmas decoration. Neither Mr M or me are fond of traditional decorations, most of our stuff are black, white, glass, metal or concrete. Except in the Christmas three were we have gone for purple and gold, and lots of it. Anyway today I got this crazy idea of making an angle horse decoration, a bit strange since I’m not into horses nor angles. You can see the result above. I bought the horse at Village and the angle wings were actually a Christmas tree ornament from Åhlens. Pretty nice huh?
Tomorrow I’m off to buy some white Amaryllis, since mum says it’s time for that now (not my area of expertise!).

7 things about me:
1. I have a crush on Darth Vader (but you probably know that already…)
2. I have cheated on one exam in my whole life! It was in first grade, I couldn’t remember how to spell Päron (Pear) so I wrote in the palm of my hand before the test ![]()
3. I can’t share hard drive with my husband, I need a organized system and (well, to put it nice) he doesn’t ![]()
4. I MUST drink my tea with milk.
5. I have played a prostitute on stage, with high heels and tight corset (!). It was a production of The Beggar’s Opera, by John Gray, a fun but strange experience ![]()

7. I kill plants! (however not always on purpose)
I challenge: Anna, Maria, Elina, Kawaii, Rebecca, Mia & Jannice.
